How to measure health and what is the

Wellness Score?

At Core Wellness Centres we believe that you need a sickness care Doctor and a wellness care Doctor.  The more you go to the wellness care Doctor the less you'll need to see your sickness care Doctor.  So how do we, as your Wellness Doctors, measure your wellness?  You can't simply say it's when you feel good because we all know someone who felt fine one day and died from a fatal heart attack the next, or the women who felt fine today but was diagnosed with breast cancer the next.  Lack of symptoms or feeling good is not an effective barometer to measure your health.

That is where the Wellness Score comes in.  This scoring system is developed to track and measure your physiology and function.  It provides a grading from A to F, measuring what we call biomarkers of health.  During your next patient examination we will be measuring a series of biomarkers of health to allow us to establish your current state of health and how best to help you.

Below are a few examples of the parameters we will be examining:

  • Body Mass Index
  • Body Composition Analysis
  • Nerve and Muscle Scans
  • pH levels
  • Postural Analysis
  • Blood Pressure
  • Heart Rate Variability
  • Functional Movement Assessment
  • Blood Tests (if necessary at an additional cost)
  • X-rays (if necessary at an additional cost)

After every new patient examination you will be invited back to go through a full report of your results and recommendations for care.  Every programme is unique to the individual based on their own health goals and needs, so whether you are looking to lose weight, increase your energy, improve your posture or get out of pain this is the starting point to ensure you get the best care possible for your case.
